Upgrade to 15.10 fails due to low disk space

Asked by srikumar

Using Ubuntu 15.04
The upgrade to Ubuntu 15.10 failed due to low disk space.
A part of the files seem to have been down loaded.
How to delete the incomplete files and get back to Ubuntu 15.04?

Thank you.

Uninstall old kernels will get a lot of space back. Also uninstalling unused applications will help too.

If you install Bleachbit and use it carefully (Run it as your user and as root) you can clear lots of space off.

Tried to install Bleachbit.
Software Centre does not permit to install any new packages due to unmet dependencies
Probably due to the failed Upgrade to Ubuntu 15.10
Ubuntu 15.04 still works.
How to get rid of the partly downloaded upgrade of the Ubuntu 15.10 files?

any suggestions?
Thank you.

Thank you for your response.

Have decided to buy a bigger hard disk to avoid similar problems in the future.

Hence please close this question.

Thank you.
