have installed ubuntu 8.04 cannot get it to open

I have installed ubuntu 8.04 using wubi-8.04-beta-rev457 which made it breeze to install before could not get past the load from cd-rom. Was working but would not save any of my changes which was my question #28479. Now I cannot get it to open at all just starts the prompt then goes to black screen & blinking cursor but will not let me enter anything, Hopefully someone out there can help since what little I was able to use was great & retired it install using the above but wants to uninstall ubuntu???? I possibly could reinstall if needed but would like to correct it if possible since this is the first install I was able to achieve from prompt

I posted this earlier & my system crashing so I had to so a system restore, My new question is can I use wubi to install ubuntu 7.0

The version of Ubuntu you installed using Wubi is still in development, which could explain why you are having problems with it. It may be a good idea to wait until Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy is fully released, on April 24, before trying to install Ubuntu in Windows.

If you're still having problems after installing the final release of Ubuntu 8.04 in Windows using Wubi, you may want to consider dual-booting Windows alongside Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy. This is probably one of the most popular configuration options for Ubuntu.
