Ubuntu cannot detect epson printer

Ubuntu cannot detect my Epson K300 usb printer and scanner.

The OS is called Ubuntu, not Unbuntu.

What is the output of:

lsb_release -a; uname -a; lsusb

It seems that for whatever reason the cups package is no more installed. Try installing it again.

Manfred is right.

Your Terminal output also shows the following error:

Feb 12 13:59:46 zephyr udev-configure-printer: IPP request 16395 failed (1280)

Googling for "IPP request failed" indicates that this is generated by libgnomeprint polling CUPS when no printer is available.

In this case, the CUPS daemon is not active (because the cups package is not installed (anymore))
