Edgy randomly freezes (Cool and Quiet??)

Asked by Willem Ligtenberg

I have installed Edgy on a brand new system. And it just randomly freezes. I did a memtest and a cpu burn in, and a smart test of the hdd. And everything looks good. Now I am thinking that it might be the Cool and Quiet technology of the motherboard. I have now switched it off, and it has run through the night...
But I must admit, that I would prefer to get C&Q to work somehow, because I want this computer to serve as a mythbox. So I want to conserve as much energy as possible.
Any ideas?

Could you try to remove quiet and splash option located at grub command line in order to obtain a full kernel crash log? Thank you.

From the attached logs there is no clue about the real matter. I think you should obtain a crash report by taking a photo of your monitor (it is not so strange after all) or by copying it on a paper sheet and report again in an electronic format.

My monitor just stays the same.
After a lot of searching I found this thread

http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=296031&page=3&highlight=-MARK--+in+messagesand I have switched to the 386 kernel and I am keeping my fingers crossed.
So this probably is related to this:
