Can i restore my data from my ubuntu account?

Sir, Please teach me
Backup failed ,Permission denied.How to solve it?
My ubuntu-gnome 15.10 was not booted.So i reinstall ubuntu-gnome 15.10 again in a same hard-drive.
Can i restore my data and apps from my old ubuntu?

Did you select to wipe the drive when you installed the OS?

Sir,
 I didn't wipe my drive and my data are remain there.
Alerady, My backups didn't work that say permission denied.
How to solve it.Please teach me.

Did you try chown-ing the data to your new user?
