SMBIOS newer than 2-8?

Asked by Travis

During Ubuntu install:
Last page, titled "Who are you?"
For "Your name:"I entered "Home"
For "Your computer's name:" the default value was "SMBIOS-implementations-newer-than-version-2-8-are-not-fully-supported-by-this-version-of-dmidecode-VGN-FE780G"

Any advice?

This is a SONY VAIO laptop VGN-FE780G

It's just trying to read the make and model of the system. Don't worry. Just type a sensible hostname for the system and carry on

I continued with the installation. Just renamed the computer name. Haven't run into any trouble with BIOS or booting yet.

Thanks for the support.
