Problem with Gnome-Flashback menu

Asked by smurf

After upgrade to 14.04 I find a problem with Gnome menu an Alacarte.
It is not very easy to explain, because the problems are many in different sections of the menu, after the upgrade I found many items of the menu that has been moved in the wrong section, but the biggest problem is that Alacarte presents a menu configuration that is not the same that I see in the main menu.
After that I found that randomly some items changes section even if I didn't use Alacarte.
Also there is a problem with Icons, is I set an Icon for a launcher I never see it.
I don't know what to do.

I guess that after various dist upgrades (since 10.04) the entries for my menu can be a mess, is there anything I can do to clean-up everything and regenerate a fresh menu entries database?

It's not a database. The menus are generated by reading the data in the files in /usr/share/applications

By editing the type, you can change how they appear in the menu.

I'm not using Unity, I use Gnome Flashback, Unity Tweak can work for Gnome ?

Ok, I understood that the problem has no solution because gnome flash-back for 14.04 is no longer attended from developper.
