 how to get sound through headphones and microphone to work

Hey, it seems I have already answered this in the bug tracker, but didn't get any reply if that solved your problem. Here's the solution:

Try adding the following line to the end of /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base:

options snd-hda-intel model=3stack

And then reboot. If that does not help, extend the line as follows:

options snd-hda-intel model=3stack probe_mask=1

And reboot again.
