the error which I am having is wreck havoc in my system

fter unpacking 0B of additional disk space will be used.
Setting up yiff-server (2.14.5-2.2) ...
Starting Y Sound Server: ERROR.
invoke-rc.d: initscript yiff-server, action "start" failed.
dpkg: error processing yiff-server (--configure):
 subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Setting up runit (1.6.0-1) ...
grep: /etc/inittab: No such file or directory
grep: /etc/inittab: No such file or directory
Adding SV inittab entry...
cp: cannot stat `/etc/inittab': No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing runit (--configure):
 subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
 yiff-server
 runit
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1): everytime I try to execute an instruction this messeage comes up. Do I have to reinstall my whole system do or do I need to run and install a new kernel is there a way this can be fix. What are my option for this error message to go away finally: Can the kernel be upgraded reslove this problem?

This problem seems to have major dilemma to my system. What I want to know how do I go about fix this problem can the kernel fix this problem? Is some of my files corrupt? do I need to remove anything in my system or reinstall the system all together.

Same here i think is a yiff-server bug...
Please remove it, open a Terminal from the menu Applications->Accessories->Terminal and type:

sudo aptitude remove yiff-server

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.
