Reading and printing pdf files

I need a way to open and print pdf files on my Ubuntu 14,04. I cannot install Adobe or Nitro - none of them work for anything by Windows.

The Document Viewer in my Ubuntu cannot print anything...

Does anyone know of a program I can use that will both read and print pdf files?

The OS comes with Evince which can view PDFs.

You cannot install Adobe, it is a company. They make a product named Adobe Reader which is a software you can install and there is an Ubuntu installer for it.

What is the output of:

lsb_release -a; uname -a

Andrew: I know Adobe is a company - and their software is called Adobe Acrobat Reader - but on their own download site, there are no options for downloading a version that is compatible with Ubuntu or MAC, for that matter.

If you know how to instal Adobe Acrobat Reader on my Ubuntu system, instructions would certainly be appreciated, although my personal preference is anything BUT Adobe's products, as I am not good friends with that company and would prefer using someone else's software, if it can do the same things.

Chrome has an inbuilt PDF viewer. The lp command can print PDFs from the terminal.
