Installing Ubuntu on EeePC

I have an 8Gb Ssd card on my EeePc. Mounting the card in Gutsy is no problem, writing from the card to Gutsy is no problem. However, I cannot write from Gutsy to the Ssd Card, I don't have permission. How do I change permissions so as I can write to the Ssd Card and hopefully install Ubuntu on my EeePC?

Gutsy is on my main computer. I have Ubuntu for EePC all ready to go. I just need to move over to the Eeepc but Gutsy will not allow me to write to the ssd card and I need to change this.

Don't know why but re-inserting the Ssd Card in Gutsy changed things and I can write from Gutsy to the card now.
