remove mandriva from ubuntu dual boot
Installed recently Ubuntu Gutsy, Love it. Did a mistake, during installation kept a mandriva 2006 partition instead of removing it.
How can I remove Mandriva and the dual boot Ubuntu created while keeping my Ubuntu install and changes I made in ubuntu?

windows vista is the spawn of satan not only is it written with actual bug defect in it will not allow you to take any action in your c: prompt
why would i want to discover the "new vista"
try this actually make changes to the ## lines as to what you want your seed to produce
as is suggested in the out put you were posting
you are smarter than the windows installation wizard right??
for example
## default num
# Set the default entry to the entry number NUM. Numbering starts from 0, and
# the entry number 0 is the default if the command is not used.
#
## are editable
# is a script suggestion prompt
did you use the get program with this
try this command
and change your settings as needed
sudo gedit /etc/apt/

R.JOEL-STAFFORD - Did not get the reference, I'm talking about dual boot of Mandriva 2006 and Ubuntu. Windows not relevant here.
Just for reference - Vista is an OS that I do not intend to use.

Thanks gary4gar, will do when will be infront of system. Please recommend where to see how to join the formated mandriva partition to the Ubuntu partition, or how to do it without using the liveCD.

I would suggest using a Live CD only, as there is a risk of data loss.
So backup your data, Boot using live Cd, & Open Gparted Partition editor(
now First Un-mount all Partition by Partition>Unmount.
Then right click on the mandriva Partition>select Move/Resize
