Problem installing Freespire on new system

Asked by B.L. Taylor

I am installing Freespire on a completely new machine. When I choose to install I get the following message : " 646.714033 MP-BIOS bug: 8254 timer not connected to io-apic 646.834236 Kernel Panic- not syncing: io-apic + Timer doesn't work
Boot with apic= debug and send a report. Then try booting with the ' naopic' option.
646.834275"
What "timer" is being referenced, what is apic, and where would I find 'naopic'?

   Thank you,
   B.L. Taylor

I'm not quite sure how a different version would help. The version I have is supposed to be the latest. Also I don't have access on the machine in question, or a cd on hand at the moment.

This question is not about Ubuntu so try going to http://wiki.freespire.org/index.php/Freespire_IRC and follow the instructions
