Username and password for liveCD first run

I just recieved my Ubuntu 7.10 CD in the mail. after eagerly tearing open the packaging and inserting it into my HP to boot from, ubuntu boots. then it shows a login screen that requires a username and password.... since this is my first run, i do not have either.... i have tried everything i could possibly think of for the username and passwrod... but everytime it says invalid username or password... PLEASE HELP

Hmm...unless something has changed it shouldn't ask for a user id and password...

Try using this for the user name: ubuntu
And a blank password.

If it doesn't help then your cd or download may be defective. Try to slow down the burn speed (4x). Or try another CD-Drive.
