where is print icon in print preview screen

Asked by wencoe

I use print preview to select a particular page of an open FireFox window and then expect to click on a Print icon to print that page(s). Print preview in 7.04 permits selection of page(s) but no way that i can see to send it to the printer, as I always did in WinXP IE, Pls advise, About the only option I see, other than page selection, is Close. Obviously, I'm a newbie.

Thank you.

No I don't think it's because your a newbie... There isn't a spot in print preview to send it to the printer... The print options have been placed under print, there you can choose what pages you want printed, the DPI and other goodies.

Insulting is not called for.

I didn't insult anyone... I simply stated that it wasn't a newbie observation, the option to print isn't indeed there... A newbie question would be something that was there that might have been missed or something like that...

I have no malicious intent and I apologize if it seemed like an insult.

My purpose in using Print Preview when deciding to print a long article is PrintPreviews feature that show exactly what to expect on each page, as defined by the PrintPreview Screen. Many times I wish to skip pages, etc and thus identify, exactly which pages I expect to be printed. I've always assumed that by printing from the PrinPreview window, I'd achieve exactly that. Going back to Print suggests closing the PrintPreview window and Printing from the previous Browser window.

True, I will be able to enter the pages I want and achieve my aims but it seems a little more elegant to have a Print Icon in PrintPreview, while assuring me that I'll get printed exactly what I saw, and not additional extraneous stuff.

In short The Print Preview approach is more akin to printing PDF screens, a very satisfying experience.

In the meantime, I'll pursue as suggested and print accordingly. Thank you all.
