Authentication Failed

Asked by vga on 2008-03-22

I've a problem when i'm going to login.

Appears a message "Authentication Failed" (Falló la autentificación) where I only accept the message and I can't write nothing in the users text box. In the text box I can read " ... " but it's impossible to change the user.

One solution?

P.D.: If a start with autologin with my default user, I don't have problems, the problem is when I would like change user.

Thanks!

Hello vga..

try reinstalling the pam library packages:

sudo apt-get udpate
sudo aptitude reinstall libpam0g libpam-modules libpam-runtime

you could also try 'aptitude purge' the above packages then 'aptitude install' them again.

Have a try and keep us informed...

Bhavani Shankar.
