LG 25UM57 2560x1080 EDID incorrect

Asked by Kevin Benham

I upgraded to a new CPU/motherboard that supports 2560x1080 graphics resolution. However, Ubuntu detects the monitor as a LG 34 in display and 2560x1080 resolution is not an option. Been testing with xrandr, but can't seem to get the settings correct. Anyone have some insight or the magic commands to fix this?

Interesting. I am using the integrated HDMI on my new GigaByte GA-78LMT-USB3 system board that says is supports max res of 2560x1080. The bios is a F2 and maybe updating to F4 might fix? The Xorg.log does list the 2560x1080 support.

Check site below. They say the drivers do not support anything newer then Ubuntu 12.04.

Bummer, thanks for your help. I should be able to add a video adapter to fix my issue, correct? Any that you recommend?
