DVD CD1 cant play

Hi all,
Using Ubuntu 7.10 with all updates.
I have installed libdvdcss-1.2.8 to the system, and all codecs covering xine.
I can play using CD0 and MP4 video.
But I can not play from my DVD player CD1.

All I get is a box with Audio and Video TS folders.

How can I get a DVD to play please?
I tried to use all players that I have like VLC, MoviePLayer and Xine but my DVD rom CD1 is not seen by any of them.
If I use CD0 it shows the Icon on screen but not DVD CD1

hi mike.
go to system--->ubuntu help center--->music,videos and photos.
I think that you will find everything you need there.
Maybe you will need to install libdvdscc2.

I tried that exactly as it said, I then used gxine as it said but same problem, how ever I did get the error no input plugin found.
But I have got just about every plugin I can find using synaptics manager.

Not at all sure what to do here?

Hi mike.
 You can't play encrypted dvd or all dvd's?for encrypted dvd take a look there.it maybe helps.

Ok got it fixed.
Not seen this problem before.

Any way I was using a Pioneer DVD burner and as I said it would not play any DVD video but would load in SOME data DVD'`s
I changed the DVD drive over to a Sony and that works fine, plays any DVD movie and all data

So it was the Pioneer DVD drive unit.

All good now.
