Can I install ubuntu amd64 in BIOS?

My question is Can I install Ubuntu amd64 os with the help of BIOS or I need UEFI firmware prior to boot ubuntu. Please tell me I am using an old 64 bit pc with BIOS. Can I boot ubuntu with the help of BIOS?

Yes you can boot the amd64 version with a BIOS machine.
