JC (jc9233) said : #5

I DID

CREATE NEW WIRELESS NETWORK
WIRELESS SECURITY
WEP 64/128-BIT HEX
I PUT MY KEY IN
OPEN SYSTEM

NOTHING
DO I HAVE TO PUT MY CD IN AND DOWN LOAD THE PROGRAM

sorry for the confusion

system>administration>synaptic

under all look for wifi radar and click to install then apply

you can also type in your terminal which is located under application>acessories>terminal

sudo apt-get install wifi-radar

also in the terminal enter this line to get a signal from your wired etho to give you a base setting in your scan

this may or may not help but youll have it for reference later if need be

/sbin/ifconfig eth0 | grep 'inet addr:' | cut -d: -f2 | awk '{ print $1}'
