mouse problems in 15.04

Running 15.04. Turned machine on two days ago, and mouse started having problems: it can take up to 10-20 left-clicks before anything happens. Unplugged and reinstalled mouse; changed mouse = no difference. This is quite annoying and can make reading email an hour long task. Any help?
