Is installing an application just clicking a link or an icon in a web site a proper procedure?
Hello geeks,
one question about installing apps without Ubuntu Software Center.
Facts are these:
1.recently I added a little app called HTTPS Finder to my (iso pre-installed) Firefox.
2.last day I connected to a web site and the result was:
HTTPS enforced. Save this rule for HTTPS Everywhere?
(btw, the website is http://
I selected "save the rule" and it told me HTTPS Everywhere didn't look like to be installed.
A "Get HTTPS Everywhere" button appeared. I clicked it and was connected to:
https:/
Mind you, I stopped here, because I don't want to take the risk of harming my Linux neither it to get angry.
I've been installing every app via Ubuntu Software Center so far...
But:
if I check Ubuntu Software Center, HTTPS Everywhere is not listed and this makes me think I didn't understand something.
The question is, then:
is installing an application just clicking a link or an icon in a web site a proper procedure?
Sorry for being verbose...
Regards and thanks
Alberto
