I have not been able to boot off the last updates to 14.04 lts

Asked by Larry Griffin

I can boot on 3.19.0-30-generic, I can't boot on 3.19.0-31-generic or 3.19.0-32-generic. I turn the HP laptop 2000-300 on and it comes up to a blank screen with the cursor top left. I turn the computer off and back on, the grub menu comes up. I select adv opt and image 30 and it boots.

I'll file the bug, but I thoughtn I'd first review filing a bug. I found linux-crashdump in how to file a bug aqnd found more problems in the installation. Hopefully I'll get things sorted out and can file more information with the b ug.

Installing linux-crashdump failed. The last update image 33 failed. If I go to the top of this page and click bugs, then on the next page click report bug, the next page is a nice how to but no place to file a bug. I'll try and fix this on ubuntu forums.

You can create a bug report based on this question document by clicking the "Create bug report" on your question document (in the lower part of the page, between the last command and the Message box)

Or you can use the path that you started to go:
click on "bugs" - "report bug" to reach https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs and then follow the instructions below the heading "Filing bugs at Launchpad.net"
Either use https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+filebug/?no-redirect or http://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/PACKAGENAME/+filebug?no-redirect (with PACKAGENAME replaced by the source package about which you want to file the bug).
