Installing themes

Ubuntu 12.04

I download few themes to try on my PC, tried GrayDay.tar.gz theme, extract the file then move the folder GrayDay to .user/share/themes it gave a error “Permission denied” then extract the file to .user/share/themes another error came up You don't have the right permissions to extract archives in the folder "file:///usr/share/themes".
I read on the web that any of these ways should work.
Can you please help to get this right.

gksudo nautilus /usr/share/themes

And you will have full access.
