dell vostro 14500 power cord

Asked by davidzaq1

Hello,

My power cord for my laptop burned out. I bought a replacement and had it for some yeas but that one finally
burned out also.

I went to the store and bought another replacement.
I get a message on boot up: "your power cord cannot be recognized. Please attach a dell 65 w cord or higher so the device can work properly. Or upgrade the cord in the Bios". or something similar. Then it says to press F1 to by pass it or go to F2 or F3.

I cannot find anything in the Bios to get the computer to recognize the cord. I have a 90 w cord so I know there is enough power for the laptop.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Thank you,

I suggest you contact Dell. This is nothing to do with Ubuntu.
