Your Terminal output does not show any proof at all that you have an NVidia video card.

And then there is this output:

OpenGL vendor string: VMware, Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on llvmpipe (LLVM 3.6, 256 bits)
OpenGL version string: 3.0 Mesa 11.0.1

So the big question is: are you testing Ubuntu in a VMWare session instead of a real install of Ubuntu?

If you are only testing in VMWare, then this is not a good way to detect and test ALL the real computer hardware.

Try testing in a LiveUSB session or install Ubuntu in dual-boot with Windows, if your host operating system is Windows.

No, it is not a VMWare session and i do not have Windows.

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 06)
01:00.0 3D controller: NVIDIA Corporation GM107M [GeForce GTX 850M] (rev ff)

 lspci | egrep 'VGA|3D'
What about this?

Unfortunately, it seems that the following people also have issues with their GeForce GTX 850M graphics chipset:

https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau/+question/265044

https://askubuntu.com/questions/677128/ubuntu-15-04-unsolvable-graphic-tearing

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1408305

In all three cases: no solution yet....

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask İsmail for more information if necessary.
