unable to mount camera's, mp 3's, or any other acessory

my system will not allow me to mount my printer, camera, download pics from camera, download music to my MP3 player, memory sticks or any software! I am stuck with this computer and I hate it except for the fact I can get on line! How do I get Window's installed?!

If you want to get Windows installed please address the problem in a Windows related community.
If you want to try solve this problem, we will need a bit more info, like the version of Ubuntu in which the problem exist and the error message(s) this problem produces.
