add/remove

i'm trying to install some appz from Applications --> Add/Remove but,i can't install appz it says to me that i can not install those appz because those are in conflict with other appz??!!?? how it's possible i've installed ubuntu this night,i don't think to have any program that it's in conflict with Kmess (4 example) exept Pidgin,i've uninstalled Pidgin to see what happends but the same message "u can't install this application because is in conflict with other applications"
plz help me

Some new programs that you are trying to add could conflict with default programs. I've noticed this mainly with multimedia. Use Synaptic (system-admin) instead and it will uninstall conflicts as well as tell you what is conflicting.

i've solved just reinstall ubuntu,now i can install everything from the applications-->add/remove !
