Aspire E11 Touchpad & Shutdown

Asked by malibann

Hello,

I have some Problems with my Acer Aspire E11 ES1-111M-C56A

- Touchpad (doesnt work at all) AFAIK there might be some kernel settings for the I2C Bus
- Shutdown it doesn't really sut down the power (screen is still bright)

I was reading here (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=185329 #3) something about 'blacklisting I2C' what does this mean and where could I do this changes?

Thanks for Your help

Run the below command and reboot.

echo "blacklist i2c_hid" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/i2cfix.conf > /dev/null

Is it OK?

This was perfect, thank You very much for Your help.

I thought 'to blacklist' was just some kind of metaphor so I did not know what to do with this information.

Admittedly, the page isn't very clear. Due to experience I could advise what to actually do on your system based on the information given. You'd already done the hard work :)
