Minecraft shuts down ubuntu

Asked by Levi

Hi, I've been having trouble playing minecaft on Ubuntu 14.04, it starts up and runs fine but after 15-20 minutes(sometimes shorter) my computer will freeze completely and i cannot do anything (No ctrl+alt+T, alt + sysreq + REISUB) so I am forced to shutdown using the physical power button on my computer, any idea of how I can fix this?

Have you tried Oracle Java? WebUpd8 has a PPA to make installing it easier

Could possibly be the driver... maybe the open driver doesn't offer enough for Minecraft.

Have you tried the proprietary driver maybe

Can you help with this problem?
