Can't boot after shutdown

Asked by Stephen Kollios

I have a rather unique situation.

After powering the system up, Grub doesn't seem to load past my BIOS screen i.e. the screen goes completely blank. However pressing the restart button at this point will enable GRUB to be booted at the next cycle after the BIOS screen.

I'm running Ubuntu 15.04, working perfectly except for boot.

If the BIOS screen has issues loading then it sounds like an issue with the BIOS. The BIOS is loaded to RAM first at boot.

I suggest you go into the BIOS and load failsafe settings and reboot after saving the new configuration. This may overwrite some bad data you have in settings and make boots smooth

Can you help with this problem?
