Hi, to whom it may concern

Slight problem occured while trying to download entropy piano tuner from their website and now I am unable to access the update manager as well as Ubuntu software center due to the following error E:Malformed line 1 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/entropypianotuner.list (absolute dist). And also, i can not do a sudo apt-get update or sudo apt-get upgrade .in the terminal. Can someone help me solve this problem.

That seems highly unlikely; the file must exist because apt is complaining about it. Please check for typos, and look in "ls /etc/apt/sources.list.d/".

Dear Colin and andrew

Upon further searching in Google I came across a link in Ubuntu forum whereby a Ubuntu user was trying to download Google chrome when he suddenly had an internet connection break and was stuck with this E:Malformed line 1 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/googlestable.list. The respondent who answered his question simply mentioned to go to terminal and type sudo rm E:Malformed line 1 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/.list . I did exactly that substituting google stable with Entropypianotuner I then reopened the terminal and typed sudo apt-get update and the sudo apt-get upgrade and everything came back to normal. Also, I was able to access software updater which I was unable to do before Regarding Entropypianotuner I found a linkin the website where I found various packages and there there was this command Entropypianotuner.i386.deb which I clicked on and I was able to download from there.. To make things short, the launching Icon or shortcut is missing no where to be found, Apparently in order to launch this program I have to open the run window and type the name of the program. Where could the launching Icon be. According to properties it is housed in Multimedia. I am assuming where sound and video are but it is not there. Well I am glad I came across this link which took me to Ubuntu forum. Sorry for having disturbed you with this problem. Patience and perseverance is a must in this field.

Regards to both of you

Ludwig
