CUPS filter failed LPT1 & HP direct connect

Asked by Galen Thurber

HP LaserJet 1200 was working
now shows any printing job as HELD
I have used both LPT1 & HPLIP (discovered printer) setup,
user is allow to modify printing job,
cables are good no changes,
LPT is enabled in BIOS no changes.
Expected a working CUPS to stay working,
any ideas?
