Security Apps

Asked by Rev. Wm. DOC Holliday

I have used AVG Security Apps and Boost Speed for years. Never had a real problem with them. The problem I have found with Gnu-Linux is that Security Apps (if available) are not updated nor are they for current releases (OS). If I go back to writing Code for my OS; I get a Security Alert because they can not get through. Running an Open System in this day and age is absurd; and asking for trouble. I have to uninstall Gnu-Linux and go back to Microsoft to be able to use software to clean and check my operating system for malware. With a 1tb main disk and 600GB Back-Up it is very time consuming.
      What future is there in the works for a Security System for Gnu-Linuk?

Are you wanting to be able to check a Windows partition for viruses and so-forth? Is this the requirement?

Thanks

No, looking to run Security Checks and Removals on Ubuntu 14.04.1 (Trusty) 64bit; 1tb.; AMD A8-3820 APU with Rodeon HD Graphicsx4; HP Pavilion p7-1225 Desktop PC. I do not want to run Microsoft, but am left no choice it seems, as when there is a Problem to Trouble Shoot, I have to reload Winows 7 so that I can download the tools necessary to take care of Malware, Rootkits,
Junk-Files, etc.
                                  Thank You for your time and support;
