VLC Player

Asked by davidzaq1

Hello,

I have Ubuntu 15.04 OS.

I am having a problem with the VLC player. When I play a video, I get sound but no picture.
I tried using the standard player....mplayer I think, and it played the video.

I had a different driver Nuveou? Not sure how to spell it. The video played in VLC but the driver gave me
too many proplems.
I switched over to the NVidia driver. The computer problem went away but now I have no video from the
player. Is there a way to find out what the problem is and fix it? Thank you.

Did you try different output method for the video option in VLC's options?

No, I could not find any output method. there was no video options under Vic’s option tab.

Did you go into the preferences then click the video tab

The option above the selected one here:

Did you look there?

Yes, I looked there, thank you. Output settings are set as automatic. Ubuntu says automatic picks the bast output source. I do not know if there is a better on.
I did restart the computer and video is playing fine now.

The problem is solved so, should I just leave settings alone?

Thank you.
