Computer system

Asked by davidzaq1

Hello,

I have a dell vostro 1500 with the Ubuntu 15.04 OS. I just switched over to a NVidia driver which solved a lot of my issues
I had on the system.

But I have another one The system seems to running fine but at the start up, I get a message which says,
"APCI PCC Prob failed". Is this something that can be fixed or is it some quirk and not necessary to deal with?

Thank you,
David

The messages
"[timecode] ACPI PCC probe failed"
that are shown on screen are normal and do not indicate a problem.

from https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1430625/comments/15 :

PCC (Platform Communication Channel) is a recent ACPI 5.0 addition. The driver does not find a PCC communications mailbox and just exits with that error message. It is not something to worry about, most machines don't have an ACPI PCCT table and they don't use this mechanism.
