File extensions don't mean much in Linux. What does the file do?

after execution of file it should ask us a question like... what you like to drink??
We have to give input 'tee' or 'coffee'....... and like that........

Please go to this site.

http://www.reviversoft.com/file-extensions/vxml

The site says that these applications will open a .vxml file.

Nuance Café
Microsoft Notepad
Microsoft WordPad
Apple TextEdit

Sounds like a text file. Ubuntu comes with gedit as the default text editor. Open it in that and you can see the contents.

Searching the web for vxml brings up several hits, among others http://www.w3.org/TR/voicexml20/

A .vxml file seems to be describing the logic and processing for VoiceXML applications, and I assume such files can be modified with any text editor.

On Ubuntu examples for suitable programs are gedit (graphical editor) or nano (command line terminal based).

(I do not know what one would need to run a VoiceXML application in Ubuntu.)

Can you help with this problem?
