Black borders on screen

Asked by davidzaq1

Hello,

I have a new issue. I have Ubuntu 15.04. I was having some problems with an inverted desktop for a few seconds after
logging onto the laptop.

It was suggested to me that I switch to a NVidia driver instead of the current one I was doing. I changed the driver and the inverted screen at start up is gone and the system is running a lot faster now. Most of the problems I had are gone.

Thank you for the great support.

But I have a new problem. Not really a problem but irritating. I installed a mesa-utils from the software centre which someone posted and said it may help with the graphics.

I started getting a black border around everything the mose pointer hovered over. When I open the terminal, I get a black box around it also. Everything has a black border around it with white letters inside or white background with black letters.
I Un-installed the mesa-utils and restarted computer, but I still have the black border over everything the mouse hovers over.

Also, the 3 buttons usually on the pages for close, mimimize etc are gone. from the terminal and software center.
They are there on the webpages but for some reson, they have disappeared from other applications.

Any idea of what this is or how to fix it?

thank you,
David

Problem solved, was a NVidia driver problem. I switched over to a NVidia driver from the nuvou? driver,,,,sorry about the spelling but switching to driver fixed the probem.
Black borders went away
