Cannot shutdown while docked, only restart

Using Ubuntu 14.04.2 TLS, when I try to shutdown from the command line using 'sudo poweroff' or when I try to shutdown from the GUI (Clicking the gear in the top-right then Shutdown and Shutdown again) WHILE my system(HP ProBook 610 G1) is docked(official HP dock) then the system just restarts. If I undock and then shutdown using either method, it works just fine. Is this normal?

If you run:

sudo shutdown -have now

Does it turn off OK while docked?
