My desktop icons do not say where I put them

Asked by R. A. Montgomery

My desktop icons do not say where I put them, they did before. I have tried rearranging them, but when I log out they return to where they were. I am running Linux 3.13.0-59

I log into a Xfce desktop. I checked the file in
.config/xfce/desktop/icons.screen0-1008x696.rc, it changes as the icons
are moved, but on logout the icons are all back the original positions
(not one you get ordering the icons.
