cannot insert/change/delete records in mysql table using python

Asked by Paul Kleewein

I upgraded my system from ubuntu 10.04 to 14.04.
Python programs using MySQL that worked well under 10.04 continued to work until I needed to change the main table and add a new table.
There are now two tables in this "system".
Now those same programs cannot insert records, change records, or delete records.
I can access the old records, but not change old records or add any new records.
Don't know exactly where the problem lies or what fix is available.
Using native MySQL commands, I can insert, change, or delete items.
I liked the way it performed in 10.04.
Was looking forward to using it in 14.04 and 15.04.
Also bought a new laptop while travelling. Do not have a CD or DVD with 14.04 to install on my new computer.
Bought the Ubuntu magazine with a Ubuntu 15.04 DVD. Installed it on my new computer and experienced the same problem.
