Have you tested the RAM using Memtest86 from Grub as a good starting point?

That doesn't show up as an option in the Grub menu nor is it accessible as a command. I tried installing it from the terminal and although it said it was added, it didn't work.

Oh and I forgot to mention that I'm running ubuntu as a dual boot. I do not face these freeze issues when running Windows.

If you run:

dpkg -l | grep -i memtest

And you get an output then it is installed. Me test has been part of the default Ubuntu install since day 1.

It's installed. I installed it last time, but it does not show up as an option in the grub menu. The only options I get is Ubuntu, Windows load or advanced options form ubuntu, but I can't seem to run memtest86 from advanced options either.

I ran the memtest via Windows, there are no memory errors. Please help! This happens multiple times a day on my Asus TP500L...

Hello again, This issue continues to happen every single day. I tried switching from Ubuntu to Mint, but the issue still exists. Every time it freezes a hard reboot is required. Any thoughts?
