HP LJ PRO MFP M225 won't print multiple copies

Asked by Ron Belcher

HP LaserJet PRO MFP M225dw, installed with HPLIP on Ubuntu 14.04 connected via wireless LAN - will not print multiple copies when COPIES set to more than one on the ctl-P print menu. It prints one copy and n-1 blank pages.

Multiple copies works fine from MSW 7 system.

Help or pointer to appropriate forum?

What Windows does or doesn't do is of near zero value. It is a completely different OS with completely different support.

Did you install the HPLIP using the file from the HPLIP site?

Yes, "hplip-3.15.6.run", installed with "sh ~/Downloads/hplip-3.15.6.run"

Installation hung up with a message something lik "Initiating uninstallation". After 15 minutes, I cancelled it, restarted it, and it ran to completion.

I used the printer for a couple of days and that is when I discovered the blank pages for multiple copies.

Then the printer stopped responding, even though cups reported starting and finishing a print job on it. So, yesterday, I deleted the printer and reinstalled HPLIP.

I then asked for 1 copy and it printed it. I then asked for 2 copies and it printed 4, no blank pages. I then asked for 2 copies again and it printed 8. I didn't have the nerve to try it again.
