Static IP v.4 Wired LAN lost connectivity
Suddenly, on June 15, our static IP v.4 wired LAN lost its Internet connectivity. This is a wired LAN, each device with a static IP v.4 address behind a router. DHCP (at the router) works but no machine with a static IP address can connect through a router.
We have been through three Comcast cable modems and four routers (Cisco, TP-Link, Zyxel, and Linksys), plus the on-board router on the latest Comcast cable modem, a Cisco XB3. We observe identical behavior across all equipment in all possible configurations. We also have recycled/rebooted countless times and upgraded firmware across the lot.
The latest thinking is that this is a translation issue between IP v.4 and IP v.6, or possibly something to do with DHCP being disabled on the LAN. In the end, we don't know but are certain the problem is not with any of the routers.
It would be nice to know what's going on, but it would suffice to know how to configure the adapters and router effectively.
Any thoughts would be most gratefully received.
