I need a plugin to play my satilight TV again. says Adobe Flashplayer, but that will not download.

I have been watching satellite TV through my Internet, now it says I need a plug-in and says download Adobe Flash player. I tried but it will not down load it. I was watching AD TV, 3ABN, and the Hope channels and there was no problem, then I watched some You Tube videos a friend emailed me. I went back to my regular programs and now I can't watch them, it says I need a plug-in. I tried to find Adobe Flash player in the Ubuntu software center and couldn't find what I needed. Don't really know what to look for I'm 65 and my son set it up for me and now he's too far away to help. Thank-you, Angelagrace
