ubuntu not loading (bcm4xx_microcode5.fm )

Hi i have just loaded Ubuntu 7.10.
I have a HP Pavilion dv9000 with AMD 64 X2 1.8 GHz with 2 gb Ram with vista as my original OS. I just cannot get ubuntu to startafter updates. It opened once and updated 195 flies and asked me to restart. After restart when i select ubuntu the load screen does not move ahead its just stuck and when its not stuck it gives me the following error

bcm4xx_microcode5.fm unable to load or find and this keeps repeating
can some one pls help me

and how do i get to load the drivers and screen settings after i get across this problem :)
