I installed ubuntu 14.10 and everything seems to be fine, excepting for it asks me to correct the root script for superuser that has not been defined, apparently I should do that in drive partitioning table

Asked by MTA

I installed ubuntu 14.10 from windows and everything seemed to go OK.but when I try to open ubuntu everything goes all right until it shows the desktop, uncomplete, and a message box appears sayng that it is installing the system and then a warning sayng that there may be too many partitions registered and then another warning saying that it could not locate the root partition "fichero raiz" for superuser and to, please, fix that in the partition table .I opened ubuntu in demo mode and checked with the partition tool, the recover drive, and I am completely at loss .I hope you could help.

14.10 is EOL in July this year. I suggest you wipe 14.10 off and do a clean install of Trusty. Trusty is LTS and supported til April 2019

When I try to install Ubuntu 14.4 lts in windows I get a message that it needs a metalink it does not have ; the only distro that installs correctly is the Ubuntu 12.4 LTS but with this one I have problems upgrading. As a matter of fact,it is distro 15.4 that I have downloaded in windows but when I try to install it, it changes automaticaly to 14.10.
