Something is wrong with your system, the dmidecode command does not produce the expected output.

What is the output of

sudo ls -l /dev/mem

Hello? Any further suggestions?

There is the problem that one of the diagnostics commands, which should provide information to help tackling the synaptics problem (sudo dmidecode -t 1,21), does not work on your system.

What is the output of

lsusb
lspci
dmesg | grep -i synapt

I do not see any trace of that touchpad device in your output. Can you check in BIOS whether the touchpad is enabled and not disabled?

I don't see mention of it in BIOS, but I'm not sure exactly what I'm looking for. It must be enabled, as it performs other functions, just not advanced things like 2 finger scrolling. In System Settings>Mouse and Touchpad there is no option for 2 finger scroll. I tried other settings programs from the Ubuntu store, but no luck.
