How to fix a corrupt ZIP file

Asked by WilEust

I thought my computer had a virus, but it turns out that after downloading DrWEB and running the boot scan I found that my Zip Archive is corrupted. Can someone please tell me how to fix this?

What Ubuntu version are you running?

Please provide the output of the terminal commands

uname -a
lsb_release -crid

If you try listing the zip file contents with

tar tzf 'zipfile'

what error messages do you get?

Is it in zip format or is it something else?

Use Recovery Toolbox for Zip is one of the most efficient data recovery tools and services, designed for the decompression of corrupted WinZip files. This program runs on virtually any computer so you may easily get back all compressed documents despite the root cause of software issue. It is much easier than any other file compression tool, all controls are really intuitive and you can start the process of data recovery as soon as this software is installed on your PC. Recovery Toolbox for Zip analyzes and repairs any damage to zip documents, occurred with any document, stored on your own computer, or downloaded from the Internet.

@actionparsnip:

I think your advice is not appreciated by the original poster.

Questions like this are fake, and made just for the purpose of promoting dubious 'repair whatever Windows files' software.

I have to confess that my recent guess was wrong, the next question of that series was not about Adobe Illustrator, but about Zip.
