Why doesn't rythembox begin to auto-play when is opened by double clicking a audio file?

Asked by Thomas Molloy

When rythembox is opened from double clicking an audio file, why doesn't it begin to play that audio file automatically. Currently the audio file needs a further double-click to get it to play when rythembox has opened

Hello Lderan,

All you do is right click a music file, click Properties, and go to the Open With tab. As the dialog says, whatever program you select from the list will be used as the default program for files of that type. If it doesn't apply that setting to all other files of that type, try it again, or try it after a restart.

Regards

Bhavani Shankar.

Just as a note: you need to get an application to play the audio file. The file browser doesn't play audio like in Vista. Just minimize the application once it starts and you load up the playlist.
